Hugaroo delivers new stuffed animals, referred to as “hugs”, to children, by partnering with organizations who serve children experiencing a significant life challenge. Examples include children’s hospitals, domestic violence programs, foster children programs, and agencies who serve children facing specific trauma(s).
What started as a Girl Scout Gold Award service project, has grown into a vibrant non-profit. The hugs collected from the first stuffed animal drive went to children in North Carolina in 2005. Deliveries expanded to Virginia in 2013, the South Carolina Lowcountry in 2019, Colorado in 2020 and Georgia in 2021. We delivered 14,583 hugs by end of year 2020 even with the COVID-19 pandemic. We expect our best year of 3,255 hugs delivered to more than double! Thank you for your continued support.
