Provide new stuffed animals to children who have experienced a life-threatening illness, traumatic event or are at risk.

Hugaroo, Inc. began as a gesture of love and caring that blossomed through a Girl Scout Gold Award project. Hugaroo is a humanitarian effort to provide new stuffed animals to 40 organizations and growing helping children heal during illnesses or traumatic conditions. From inspired beginnings resembling Adam's Animals and through the dedicated work of Jenna Thrasher (Harper), in memory of her sister Morgan who succumbed to cancer at 17, Hugaroo endeavors to provide stuffed animals to children where and when they need them most.

Adam, Morgan, and countless other children have found great comfort in having a stuffed animal to hug and keep them company throughout their recovery and treatments. The initial new stuffed animal fundraising drive collected 348 stuffed animals that were presented to the children at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC, (now Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital) in 2005 as Jenna's Gold Award project. As a new non-profit in 2007, Hugaroo, Inc continues to operate in the Charlotte NC Metroplex that has expanded to Richmond VA Metroplex, Lowcountry SC, Colorado and Georgia collecting new stuffed animals to provide these essential hugs. 2022 begins with 28,854 hugs program to date. We are forecasting to deliver over 23,000 in 2022 that exceeds 2021's best year of 14,806 hugs. Thanks for your ongoing support!
